Pokémon Center Kyoto in SUINA Muromachi

The store is located inside SUINA Muromachi, a stylish brown-toned building that might not look like it has a Pokémon Center at first glance! The upper floors are used as office space, so the overall vibe is calm and modern.

On the first floor, you’ll find cafes, a bookstore, a supermarket, and restaurants—perfect for grabbing a bite before or after your visit!

If you’re coming by bus, it’s super easy to find—the bus stop is right in front of the building.
To get to the Pokémon Center, just use the elevator on the left side of the building, go up to the second floor, and you’re there!

Inside Pokémon Center Kyoto

As soon as you enter the store, you’re welcomed by a Pikachu dressed as a maiko (a traditional apprentice geisha) — so cute and very Kyoto!

In the center of the store, you’ll find a big statue of Ho-oh, the main character of Pokécen Kyoto. It really stands out!

The store’s interior has a strong Kyoto vibe, with Pokémon-themed kimonos, beautiful flowers, and elegant colors that reflect the traditional style of the city.

There’s also a small gaming area and a few gacha capsule machines, so even if the space is a bit limited, there’s still plenty to enjoy.

How Crowded in Pokémon Center Kyoto

I visited on a weekday evening, around 5:00 to 6:00 PM, and there were always about 10 to 15 groups shopping inside the store.

As you can probably tell from the photos, it wasn’t too crowded at all—you can shop comfortably without any stress.

Compared to the same time of day at the Pokémon Centers I often visit in Osaka (Osaka and Osaka DX & Café), there were definitely more people here.

Unlike Tokyo or Osaka, Kyoto only has one Pokémon Center, so it naturally attracts more visitors.
Plus, since it’s close to popular tourist spots, it will likely get very busy on weekends and holidays.

Store Size

Inside Pokémon Center Kyoto

The new Pokémon Center Kyoto is about twice the size of the previous location in Kyoto Takashimaya, with a total area of 115 tsubo (around 380 square meters or 4,100 square feet).

When I actually visited, I thought the store felt pretty spacious.
I usually go to Pokécen Osaka, so compared to that, it didn’t feel huge—but it was still more than enough space to enjoy shopping.

One thing I noticed, though: there were fewer plush toys compared to the Tokyo and Osaka stores.

These beautifully made stamp books (similar to goshuincho used at temples) feature covers made from Kyoto-style silk fabric (Kyo-yuzen), giving them a luxurious feel.
